My niece, Whitney, turns 17 today so you get a photo of us from last summer instead of a new one. Cute of her, weird of me.

We still have snow left! Not much snow, but there is some. It looks like a snowman pooped in our yard, but he didn't.
We are the last house on the street to still have snow, albeit just a small mound.

While hanging out in front of the fireplace trying to warm my toes, I played with my white balance settings. I love the differences I see and want to practice more with my WB settings.

Well, the snow is slowly starting to thaw. :( These photos are from yesterday and last night. My neighbors, Molly and Jenny, and I decided to have happy hour - outside in the snow. We were prepared with coats, gloves, a fire pit, and of course a lot of wine!
Our fancy wine cooler:

Little Travis decides he wants to hit me with snowballs.
Molly's dog, Jack, liked to catch and eat snowballs. I was pretty proud of getting this shot.
Molly & Jenny enjoying our winter wonderland.
Molly and I enjoying our happy hour. Oh, and I tell you we were in her FRONT yard? :) We definitely had a few people drive by and break their necks looking at us!
The fire pit not only kept us warm, but also took us up a notch into the ranks of "suburban rednecks."

Overall, we had a great time! It did get a bit cold, but we warmed up by the fire. When it got dark, we went inside to eat warm chili and chowder to keep us warm. We might have to make this a tradition!

Not only did it snow throughout the night, it kept going! We had record snowfall in Dallas! We received at least a foot of that powdery goodness. While I know the thaw is going to suck, I relished in the beauty and fun we had today.
Pippin, sprinkled with snow, loving on Daddy.
Frolicking in the snow is just like frolicking in the grass. Rawr!
Don't think we'll need to water using this for a while.
At this point, we'd received ten inches of snow. And, no, I didn't have on any makeup but I sure didn't care!Todd is over 6'3" and he was up to his calves in snow as well.
I made a snow angel! Yep, I'm twelve.
This tree across the street was really feeling the weight of the snow. It was one of the few that didn't lose at least a branch.

The snow began hours before sunrise. It was so beautiful! I took dozens and dozens of photos today, but I'll only post my favorites.
I woke up to this kind of beauty:
Steve impresses me with his snow eating skillz before I leave for work.
This shot just cracks me up! The big smiles on my students' faces let me know that I made the right choice taking them out to play.
By the time I got home, our house was blanketed in beautiful, white powder.
This tree is a three year old Red Oak in our front yard.
School was finally canceled at 10:00 tonight. I can't wait to play and shoot in the snow tomorrow!

It was killing me to be stuck inside and not out playing in the snow and taking lots of photographs. So, I packed up my class & we headed outside for some fun!

Big flakes continued to fall throughout the night. This tree is a 40 year old Maple in our backyard.

Pam - I've taught with her for eight years. She was smiling because she's going on a cruise later this week.
